Yesterday (Tuesday) I was able to join with 24 other YWAM locations around the world via Genesis along with several more via live-streaming to hear from YWAM co-founder Darlene Cunningham & son David. Founder Loren was supposed to speak but was not feeling well so as Darlene put it "we got 2 Cunninghams for the price of 1". Genesis is very basically a video-chat/video-conferencing system that we in YWAM use to meet with locations around the world. Our base, YWAM San Diego/Baja, use it to hold weekly meetings since we are all spread out over 4 different locations. We also use this with our ONEVoice events where YWAM locations around the world get together and worship God all together, it is a GIANT Jam Session at the same time regardless of time zone, pretty amazing to be worshipping along-side of people in Switzerland, Brazil, Uganda, and many more places.

The iPad is only good because of the apps on it, each app has a specific focus & goal but the iPad just holds them all together. Social media we should have a whole new level of integrity of what & how we communicate and initiatives we put out. Gossip is the same as witchcraft.

Popular media is all about opinion & selling commercials. We can't truly understand what is going on around the world because of the half truths via blogs and the political & commercial agenda in news agencies so how do we as YWAM really know what is going on in the world.
We are in an exciting time with some new initiatives for new engagements with media to get our stories on the ground out & up through grassroots international (9 campuses with 100+ YWAMers). Grassroots reporters were on the ground in Japan when the woman was pulled out of the rubble after 9 days and that footage was sent out around the world.
Grassroots: Training movement that provides content in many outlets. Visit website (grassrootsnews.tv) & look at story of woman buried alive in rubble in Japan (guys felt led by Lord to be there at that moment, they were looking for stories of hope in the midst of tragedy). Japan wouldn't allow YWAMers to go in as first responders so they changed strategies to support the people there & to bring stories of hope in midst of tragedy, asking the Lord where to go & connect that issue with the rest of the world. Our guys were there, they were there first and were the first to put up the story, aired on ABC Nightly News & others across the US and also on CBN and was pieced for other organizations (Samartian's Purse, Save the Children, etc). Japan story went to Christian media & Secular media, it was relevant to both.
We aren't trying to be doctors but we are wanting to train people in emergency care (CPR) so we are ready if something needs to happen.
Everything that is put online is up there FOREVER (our words need to be chosen carefully as they can be used). You have your intended audience, those you are talking about and the unknown which could include your enemies. We need to be prepared to be visible and accessible.

flying car (Nate Saint): dune buggy that can fly. 1st 2 are going to YWAM and they are flying/driving it from YWAM Orlando to Panama and will use it to show people that missions is for everyone, not just what you are used to or "think".
Olympics in England - used to be that there had to be a surrender fo peace in order to be a part of the Olympics. 40 days of peace around the world. member of parliment is walking from greece & original site of olympics to London for Olympics (truth walk) to help bring about peace and come back to the original idea of Olympics.
How cool is that!! Flying cars, Olympics and Hope in the midst of tragedy!!! The world we live in is SO CRAZY!!!!! I love it!!!
