As a missionary with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) I live by faith every single day. I don't have the luxury of living any other way and I think that is one of the coolest ways to live. Throughout my 8 years with YWAM San Diego/Baja God never ceases to amaze me!
Yesterday (Saturday) I posted on my personal facebook page asking a simple question: Who wants to send me a care package? #missionarylife #toiletries #snackfoods
I did this because as dumb as it sounds I was really craving some snacks like beef jerky and chips but don't have the funds to purchase any (not that you can really find beef jerky around here). As I was thinking about beef jerky & chips I felt like the Lord said post on your wall asking for care packages. So I did, the one above.
I immediately received a comment from my cousin that I haven't seen outside of facebook for at least 20+ years asking what did I need. I messaged her a few things & she said she'd put a package in the mail Monday! WHAT????
Several others commented over night asking for a list. So I spent the majority of the day today praying and compiling a list of sorts. This is a suggestion list of items that I use on a regular basis or things that I can't readily get here in Mexico (mainly the snack foods). That list is below if feel so inclined to send me a missionary care package.

I know that this shouldn't surprise me. He does this for me ALL THE TIME!! Like my birthday last year or when I needed money to pay my bills because support was low. He even does this for my friends, like Maria who God surprised with a heart-shaped necklace. The stories are endless.
So why does He do this?
Simple answer: Because He cares about the little things.
Complex answer: Because He cares about the little things!!
That's right, He cares if you have beef jerky or not. Ok, maybe He doesn't really care about the beef jerky but He knows that beef jerky is what will make me happy in this moment. And because He loves me, He wants to show me that He truly does care even about the meaningless things because He wants me to be happy!
He does these things just because!
What are some things God has done for you just because? It could be a beautiful sunset or rainbow, it could be a new job or a great deal on a new outfit. It could be your favorite chocolate or a night out with the gang. Tell me about it by leaving a comment below.
