This past weekend on our YWAM San Diego/Baja campus at San Antonio del Mar, our DTS (Discipleship Training School) was able to experience the life-changing opportunity of building a house for a family. They headed out on Saturday morning and drove almost an hour away to build for this awesome family of five. Read this beautiful account from one of our students, Tessa.
This shack was home to a family of five. Enough room for one bed and a fridge, nothing more. I am so grateful for organizations such as Homes of Hope that work to serve these families in need. This weekend I felt so privileged to build a house through Homes of Hope. As a class we built two homes in two days! A three bedroom home, furnished with a bunk bed, kitchen table, and new stove! And a full fridge! After hours of hard work and paint covered clothes/hair I sit in my bed thanking God for the roof over my head. And tonight I consider my blessings with a new perspective. Thank you Jesus.

I am so blessed to work with such an amazing ministry. While I may not actually go out & physically build the homes anymore, I continue to support this ministry throughout the week by teaching our missionary kids in our preschool so their parents can go pay the bills, meet the families, order the wood, prepare the sandwiches, walk the teams through the process, etc.
