Here at the YWAM (Youth With A Mission) San Antonio del Mar campus of YWAM San Diego/Baja we celebrated this day of love a bit differently. Our missionaries spent the afternoon Saturday prepping special gifts of flowers and candy with messages of God's Love, a love more powerful than anything on this earth. These missionaries then took these gifts out to the streets of Zona Norte, the red-light district of Tijuana. This area is filled with prostitutes, drug and alcohol addicts and pimps. These are people who have lost all hope and are struggling to just survive each day. They feel alone, worthless, unlovable and unwanted. But God's TRUTH over them is completely the opposite! They are valued, loved and created for a purpose and a plan. God will never leave or forsake them and they are fearfully and wonderfully made.
This reminds me of my DTS (Discipleship Training School) Outreach in Guatemala. We also handed out roses to the prostitutes in an infamous area known for the largest area of prostitution in Guatemala City. I had an incredible conversation with a lady when God told me to tell her that He weeps with her. I'll share that story later.
