Now that you're back, let's talk about some sides. A traditional side dish for my family during the holidays is green bean casserole. We use french style green beans and cream of mushroom soup and of course, french fried onions. MMM. This is definitely one of my favorites. But how about a twist on this classic using some of your most commonly used essential oils.
Lemon Butter Green Beans
1 pint Green Beans, stems trimmed
1 Tablespoon Coarse Salt, plus a dash more for seasoning
2 Tablespoons Butter
2 drops Lemon Essentail Oil
Freshly Ground Pepper, to taste
Directions:
- Fill a medium (3-quart) saucepan 3/4 full of cold water.
- Set over high heat & bring to a boil. Add salt and beans.
- Cook until water returns to a boil and beans are tender, abt 4-5 mins.
- Remove from heat and drain.
- Immediately return beans to saucepan.
- Add butter and Lemon essential oil.
- Toss, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve Warm
Yields: 4 Servings
