Recognizing and repeating patterns are an important part of a child's development. Patterns are all around, and when you encourage your child to recognize patterns, you are strengthening their math skills. Students who can identify patterns have an easier time solving problems and making mathematical connections. There are patterns all around them in everyday life. A brick wall, the sidewalk, the beats in music, grandma's quilt, a soccer ball, a ballet dance, weather, the street; all contain patterns!
